Travel times apply at nominal supply under standard conditions. Adjustment depends on the control panel. Confirm supply voltage and frequency with IRONGATE when ordering.
Gate leaf limits
| Leaf width | Max. weight per leaf |
|---|---|
| 2.0 m | 1,000 kg |
| 2.5 m | 800 kg |
| 3.0 m | 600 kg |
| 4.0 m | 500 kg |
Limits apply per leaf. Final selection depends on site conditions and gate geometry.
Opening and site fit
- Inward opening up to 120°.
- Outward opening up to 90° with a supplementary bracket.
- Confirm hinge clearance, gate rigidity and a secure mechanical closing stop.
- Ask about controls and safety devices.
Installation & user guide
1. Before installation
Check the gate, hinge clearance and safety provisions.
- Verify that the gate structure is strong enough for the operator. The hinges should move freely, with clearance between moving and fixed parts.
- Check dimension C against the limit in the inward mounting table below. If the pillar geometry exceeds that limit, have the mounting arrangement corrected before installation.
- Plan the wiring routes around the positions of the controller and safety devices.
- Provide a mechanical closing stop securely anchored to the ground. It prevents the gate and operator from moving past the correct closed position.
- Keep accessories away from children. Never allow children to play with push buttons or remote controls. A closing gate can cause serious injury.
2. Standard system layout
Typical arrangement for a double-leaf swing gate:
- Non-backdrivable gear motor
- Control panel
- Radio receiver
- Safety photocells
- Key-operated selector switch
- Antenna
- Flashing movement warning light
- Remote transmitter
Cable sizes: microswitch wiring 5 × 1 mm². Motor power wiring 2 × 1.5 mm² up to 20 m, or 2 × 2.5 mm² up to 30 m.
3. Inward installation: mounting dimensions
Select the operator and check mounting geometry for each gate leaf. Dimensions in millimeters.
| Opening | A | B | C max. | E |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 90° | 150 | 100 | 120 | 720 |
| 120° | 150 | 80 | 70 | 720 |
Check A, B, C and E using the hinge and bracket reference points shown in the brochure. Confirm final dimensions on site before securing the mounting brackets.
4. Bracket alignment and limit switch
Mount the front bracket: with the gate closed, fasten the fixing plate and front bracket to the gate leaf. Align the fixing plate horizontally with the rear bracket and observe dimension E. Apply neutral grease to the worm gear and washer during installation.
Adjust the opening limit switch:
- Release the gear motor and move the gate to the desired fully open position.
- Loosen the switch screws. Slide the switch along its support rod until the actuator runner triggers it.
- Tighten the screws to secure the switch.
5. Dust strips and manual release
Fit the dust strips, and use the keyed release when you need to move the gate by hand:
- With the motor stopped, lift the access door.
- Insert and turn the release key.
- Push or pull the gate by hand.
- To re-lock the operator, insert and turn the key again.
6. Outward installation
Use the supplementary rear bracket for outward opening.
| Measurement | A | B | E |
|---|---|---|---|
| IRONGATE Model | 200 mm | 200 mm | 720 mm |
- Measure A and B.
- Fasten the rear bracket and supplementary bracket to the column.
- Open the gate to a maximum of 90°. Verify E, then secure the front bracket to the gate.
- Reposition and adjust the opening limit switch.
7. Periodic maintenance
Lubricate the worm gear screw and pivot pins. Check the clamp screws for tightness and verify that the connection cable is securely fastened.
